Chad Kroger of Nickelback Slams Corey Taylor (Stone Sour/Slipknot)

Chad Kroger told an interviewer “I can’t think of another band that’s as diverse as we are. I can’t. And I don’t think that’s me talking from pride or ego.”

The interviewer replied with the band Stone Sour which Corey Taylor fronts.

“They’re okay, but they’re not as good as Nickelback," Kroger replied. "They sound like ‘Nickelback Lite.'” He then moved on to Corey Taylor's primary band, Slipknot.

“They had to put on masks and jump around,” Kroger continued, “How good can your music be if you’ve got to beat each other up on stage, throw up in your own masks every night?” He then said “music shouldn’t come with a gimmick.”

Corey Taylor “got tired of sitting behind a mask (Slipknot)— he wanted people to know what he looks like — so he started Stone Sour,” said Kroger.

Taylor started Stone Sour with guitarist Jim Root three years before Slipknot.

Starts at the 8:15 minute mark
