It's not unusual for authorities to pick up someone's missing dog or cat from the road. What about a guinea pig?

That's exactly what happened to Logan, Utah officials Friday morning (September 17), according to KTSU. Local police said they found a guinea pig rolling in a "green critter ball" in the middle of the roadway in the area of 730 South 200 West.

"He has been taken to New Vision Intake and Shelter at 1180 1/2 W. 200 N. They can be reached at 435-265-6040," officers wrote on Facebook alongside an image of the creature and its ball. They're also encouraging people to share the post so the original owner can find their pet.

No word on how the adorable critter escaped his home, especially in a ball.

This little guy isn't the only one who had misadventures on the road. Police in California found an abandoned hamster in a cage on the side of the road, completed with a "free hamster" sign.
