DC Entertainment Throwing Their Own Free Virtual Convention With DC FanDome

Warner Bros. has announced the launch of DC FanDome on August 22, a free virtual fan experience celebrating all things across the DC Universe...movies, comics, TV shows, video games, and more. The virtual event will include panels and announcements with the casts and creators of various DC Comics-based media projects and promises sneak peeks at upcoming movies like The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. This could be our first look at trailers or footage from some of those.

According to a piece at Vanity Fair, the event will be much more than a glorified Zoom call. The company is shooting for something more interactive...a digital world with a map of events that visitors can explore and attend, along with hidden treasures, secret rooms, and presentations to discover. The map included with the announcement breaks out the following "lands":

  • DC Hall of Heroes
  • DC WatchVerse
  • DC YouVerse
  • DC KidsVerse
  • DC InsiderVerse
  • DC FunVerse

The official DC Comics website shared this description:

The epicenter of the DC FanDome is the Hall of Heroes, where you can experience special programming, panels and content reveals from a wide variety of films, TV series and games, available in several languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. From there, navigate deeper into the DC Multiverse, exploring five additional satellite worlds, each with its own localized content and unique activities and one world fully devoted to our younger fans!
