A lamb is on the run at the University of Utah.

The barnyard animal broke loose on late Monday or early Tuesday as it was being delivered to a research building at the Salt Lake City campus, the Salt Lake City Tribune reported.

The wayward sheep wasn't part of the university's agricultural program but was among five lambs that were to be used to study infectious diseases. The lamb that gave the slip was the smallest of the herd and was last seen bolting towards the student union.

“It remains on the loose,” Chris Nelson, University of Utah spokesman, told the paper. “It pushed past people, and they were trying to get it but couldn’t.”

The lamb has affectionately been renamed "Ewe of U."

No one knows where the lamb has gone, but the Salt Lake County animal control department received tips about its possible whereabouts. They think its still on campus but it might be grazing on greener pastures on the foothills.
